Fishing Report:
The Gallatin has been delicious this year, good flows even down in the valley, good water temps, good hatches, and better fishing. If you haven't fished the Gallatin in a while, then you might want to take another look at doing so. I'm not a big Gallatin guy, but this summer it has been something else, and has made it's way back into my fishing rotation for sure. Spruce Moth's are still around for those of you who enjoy that, get out there soon though because unlike some "hatches" you never know when those things will dissappear. Attractor dries up in the canyon are still the ticket, just beware of the rafters up there, it's a zoo around the mad mile and the corner... Down in the valley we've been fishing a lot of hopper dropper combos, in fact a straight hopper has been pretty darn good as well. If you'd like to get into a bigger fish, try fishing the same stuff you do on the Madison and Yellowstone (Bow Rivers and Sculpins with a beadhead dropper and lots of weight...) Caddis in the later evenings have been good as well, literally pick your time and head on out to the Gallatin, the most under rated fishery in the area.
