Fishing Report:The Missouri is in good shape and fishing well after a little cooling off. Guess what they are seeing? Blue Wing Olives, that's right it's August and we're seeing BWO's already with the weather that reminds us more of fall and less of summer. The crowds are a bit more spread out now from the reports we've been hearing, streamer pulling is always a good idea but becomes a bit better when it's overcast and drizzly out. Hopper and ant and beetle action will be slow till it warms back up agian so maybe by the weekend, but don't count out the small dry fly stuff. Nymphing has been productive as well, stick with your standards up here, they work year round (scuds, sow bugs, midges, lightning bugs, pheasant tails). Other than that, Tricos are probably done for the year now, so don't bother with that, look for the olive bodies mayflies from this point on out - if and when the weather warms up again, maybe some more terrestrials.
