Fishing Report:
Bruce and Gayle fished the Stillwater this past weekend, once up high and once down low and it sounded as if things were better up high still, probably cooler water and Bruce said it was a little off color down low and fishing was really slow down by Fireman's. But hey, it's fishing and that happens. The fishing reports from the Stillwater had been good, hopper action down lower towards the Yellowstone was in full swing and fish are looking up quite eagerly now, I'd expect that the day Bruce had was a blip on the radar. Attractor dries nearly river wide at this point have been fishing well, up higher the fish are looking up too, so don't think that you can't pitch hoppers up high. The Chubby in hopper tan and red is a go to for most anglers heading to the Stillwater and Boulder, the Neversink trudes have been fishing well too. Hopper dropper rigs are effective ways to cover both spectrums, so don't discount nymphing if the dry fly fishing slows, just use your flashier more general nymph patterns. Some evening caddis, some sallies, some goldenstones and hoppers, so that's why your attractors work well...
