Fishing Report: Called and spoke with PPL about the dam releases and flows and they very nicely explained that they are holding the water back (no reason) but that they would be steadily increasing outflows from Hebgen into September for fall flows. Hopper fishing and spruce moths have been the mainstay up here for your dry flies and some small attractors. Nymphing has been decent, better hopper dropper rigs though, and streamer fishing has been non existent with low flows, warmer temps and bright sunny days. Stuff up higher has been better, Cameron Flats and below has been slow with lots of little fish - the big one's are in the deep holes and runs in the few places you have that kind of structure. Up higher above Ennis towards West the river is definitely a bit of a boatshow, so go early or late, hoppers and attractor dries and spruce moths. PMD's are done now, some goldens around still, some yellow sallies still, and you can find some tricos in the sidechannels if you look hard. Fish the pocket water and riffles right now up here, that's where the fish in the upper stretches are, in the lower stretch near Ennis look for the fish to be in the shallows early and moving into the deeper pockets in the afternoons.
