Mike Herrick

Mike has a true passion for fishing which is obvious to anyone he guides.  He insures his fishing guests have a memorable experience by catering to their skill levels and interests. Mike’s first recollections of fly fishing are at the tender age of 4, fishing the beautiful hardwood-lined tributaries of the Salmon River in upstate New York. Growing up an Army brat with a family on the move, Mike was afforded the opportunity to fish a vast variety of waters across the country. In 1986 Mike and his father bought a little house in Jeffers, MT, just down the road from Ennis and a short walk to the Madison River. A couple of years later Dad opened a BnB near Varney Bridge on a bluff overlooking the Madison. Dad began guiding and it wasn’t long before Mike joined him as a guide as his father’s business grew. In 2003 Mike was introduced to saltwater flats fishing on Long Island, Bahamas and a new passion was born. Annual excursions followed to more of the beautiful island flats in the Bahamas, Belize, Mexico, and the Florida Keyes. He recently returned from Turneffe Island Resort where he was the Director of Fishing. Having fished and guided on the rivers surrounding Bozeman, his guests often comment on his knowledge, helpful casting tips, and overall patience.
