Air-brushing Your Flies by Johnny Mac

We recently started to carry the Copic Air-brush Kit. This kit allows you to paint your fly patterns to look like anything you are trying to imitate. The fly I chose to start with is Blane Chocklett's Game Changer. I first tied the fly in all white CCT Body Fur. Once I finished with the initial tying of the fly, I then got the air-brush kit out. Before I went to work on the fly, I practiced on a sheet of paper to learn the angle the paint sprays out of the tip. After a few minutes of practice on paper I felt confident enough to go to work on the fly. One thing to keep in mind is a little paint goes a long way. This fly was my first attemp at air-brushing and I'm sure that with each one I paint they will look better and better. I also air-brushed the fly before I added the eyes and Clear Cure Gooed the tail. This first attemp I painted free-hand but we are also carrying stencil patterns to make the work easier. This product line is going to take your tying to a whole new level.
