Well, today's the day...my last day at Montana Troutfitters.
These guys took me in during the summer of 2013. At the time, I was a perrennial coffee shop worker/trout bum. I received my share of flack from the guys about my barista history, but they still drink my coffee every day, so I endure.
The seasonal position they hired me for turned into a year-round gig. I knew I'd learn a lot from working in a fly shop, but I honestly didn't expect to have furthered myself as much as I have during my time with the crew here. I got lucky...not every shop is as down-home, fishy, and personable as Troutfitters. They certainly made me feel at home, and I'll miss the heck out of 'em.
From afternoons spent listening to Johnny Mac's colorful commentary, to working with Jake and Justin on tying videos, the education has been constant.
I'll be spending my summer chasing musky, bass, and other warmwater fare in my homestate of Wisconsin, so my last job here is to convince these guys to come visit.
To Justin, Lisa, Jake, Johnny, Bury, Gary, and all of the other employees and customers I've worked, interacted, and fished with over the past couple of years, thanks for the great ride!
Troutfitters will always be top on my list. Pay 'em a visit for me.
