Salmon Fly Update #3 2018
This update will be brief, but the salmon flies are here on the Madison!
Bighole River: The Bighole is running out of bugs and the fish are getting more and more reluctant to eat them. You will still find a few eating big dries but mostly in the mornings and evenings. Dry droppers with a smaller chubby and pheasant tail underneath can be deadly!
Madison River: Get here now! The first few bugs are coming off down towards 8 mile and Ennis. There are huge amounts of nymphs around and a dry dropper rig has been solid! The water is high so do a long float or pick a gentle wade fishing area. The hatch should be in full swing in the next few days. If you can get here tomorrow, do it!
