Salmon fly's are on there way out in Southwest Montana. The hatch was sporadic this year with bugs popping higher up than normal and moving quickly with the changing water temperatures. What's left now is a few on the upper reaches of the Gallatin River in the park and on the upper section of the Yellowstone in the park. If you're hell bent on catching the last of the hatch your best bet would most likely be hiking into the Black Canyon and fish the Yellowstone in the park. You may run into a few of the \"big bugs\" between the lakes on the Upper Madison, but I wouldn't bank on it.
There's plenty of good fishing to be had, we're just done with the salmon fly's for the year!
