Living most of his life in Idaho, Ben Abbey began fly fishing in his early teens, engrossing himself in everything fly fishing. From learning to tie flies, building fly rods, to chasing steelhead on the South Fork of the Clearwater and Salmon rivers, backpacking Idaho mountain lakes for Cutthroat in the Frank Church Wilderness, stalking Brown’s and Rainbows on the Southfork of the Boise, and fishing the Owyhee River near his home in Boise. Ben was living the ideal Idaho fishing lifestyle.
When Ben discovered the beauty of Montana and the fly-fishing lifestyle, he decided to uproot his high school sweetheart and family to expand his fishing exploration of Montana’s water every chance available. Bozeman Montana’s way of life for raising a family has been a dream to this experience. Working for the City of Bozeman, serving the community in the building and fire department, he enjoys helping folks build their dreams. Using those same skills as a guide, Ben enjoys sharing his passion for fly fishing and sharing what Montana is all about.
